Just waiting for my partner. Maybe you’ve seen her? Pretty girl, thinks she can leap tall buildings in a single bound, carries the weight of the world on her shoulders, yet still manages to laugh at some of my jokes.
Sounds like a handful.
Tell me about it. Anyway, if you’ve seen her, tell her she owes me about a hundred coffees.
Fincher:Well, tell me specifically what happened, as if I was your legal team. How reprehensible was the altercation with an enthusiastic, possibly inebriated, mid-20s male who, without your consent, decided to lift you into the air.
Fincher:And then dance with you as if you were some kind of toy.
Fincher:And you responded by grasping his larynx - with extreme prejudice.
Mara:I very calmly advised him that I could...
Fincher:Do bodily harm.
Mara:Yes, that I could do serious bodily harm, and that he should probably put me down.

I assume that by “okay” you mean “horrifying and hilarious all at the same time,” because that’s what True Blood usually is. Everything is weird and PLEASE GO AWAY MARYANN. ALSO BILL. YOU CAN GO AWAY TOO. … Bill/Maryann OTP?
LOL, BASICALLY. It just never hits the emotional high note of I Will Rise Up. Ever again, arguably.
I ACTUALLY LIKED MARYANN, I JUST THINK HER PLOT WAS POORLY EXECUTED, BUT I’M REALLY INTO AGENTS OF CHAOS AND GREEK MYTH AND MAENADS AND I THINK THE ACTRESS IS GREAT AND SOLD IT SO WELL. Just…poor execution. It could have been so much better or greater than what it is turned out to be instead. Which is how True Blood does everything.
Honestly, I wasn’t ever expecting it to hit the emotional high note of I Will Rise Up. And I say that despite the fact that I had already seen the end of that episode when I started watching the first three seasons. (Heather linked me to it on YouTube when Godric showed up briefly in season 4 because I was all WTF and she wanted me to have a passing knowledge of his relationship with Eric.) But, like, HOLY SHIT. This show bothers me sometimes, and angers me not infrequently (TARA BABY COME BACK), but I genuinely never expected it to make me sob. And I definitely never expected Eric to be the one to do it. And I like Eric.
Maryann’s plot actually REALLY REALLY skeeved me out? Pretty much all her behavior from the first time she interacted with Sam has rubbed me the wrong way, and I dislike how flippantly she manipulates people and literally takes control of their actions. The actress did a really good job … but I am not fond of her character despite (or possibly because of) that.
